World Poetry Day is celebrated on 21 March and was declared by UNESCO in 1999. Its purpose is to promote the reading, writing, publishing, and teaching of poetry throughout the world and, as the original UNESCO declaration says, to "give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movements"

The Vegetable Orchestra (or the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra) is an Austrian musical group who use instruments made from fresh vegetable. They are the world's foremost exponents of this rare genre (Wikepedia). After the concert part of the vegetables which are left over after preparing the instruments go into the vegetable soup which is served to the audience!!! Another part goes into organic waste!
The Recycled Orchestrais composed of children from a community in Paraguay. Instruments are made from scrap materials found in a landfill site, named Cateura. The orchestra has performed internationally, including performances with Stevie Wonder and Metallica! (Wikepedia)
The Trash Art Museum is a school project on how things of no use can be real art. Developed by students of the Vocational HighSchool of Kardamyla, Chios, the initiative proves that recycling can be a form of art and a means of communication. The projects operates under the umbrella of Environment School Programs.
